The cost of living in Virginia is on the rise and the Commonwealth’s economy is not keeping up. Families, businesses, and individuals are struggling to get by. Just this year, Virginia was ranked 49th in the United States for the best place to start a small business, and 2020 Census data showed a mass exodus of Virginians leaving for more business-friendly states.
We need economic policy that helps families and businesses, not hurts them. We can start with small measures like cutting job-killing regulations, creating job incentives, and ending Virginia’s grocery tax.
